Transition To Independent Expo
November 16, 2013 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pmFree
TRANSITION TO INDEPENDENCE EXPO
This expo will bring together service providers and community organisations from the Brisbane and Logan area that can help young people transition to independence. These clients will include young people leaving out of home care, refugees leaving care, high school graduates and young people from the local community who are seeking support and access to services, training, education and opportunities. Essentially any young person who needs help taking their step to independence.
We are expecting over 30 service providers to present information booths on the day. The expo will also feature additional entertainment such as live music, activities, a free BBQ, a boot camp workshop and an inspiring speakers corner. In our speakers corner we will have young people discussing their successful journey to independence and lessons they learnt on the way. An inspiring component of our expo!
The expo will be advertised widely throughout the local Brisbane and Logan community and we hope your service can participate in this inspiring event hosted by Life Without Barriers. All tables and chairs are provided on the day for your display, we simply need you to bring your services valuable information to share!
Already services such as Centrelink, RAILS, UQ University, Medicare, employment agencies, sporting clubs and other important services have registered to participate and we hope you can join the list!
If you are keen to register to participate, please respond via email to firstname.lastname@example.org before the closing date for registration of October 29th. If your service can also provide any activities or workshops on the day let us know too!
