“Loving, Living and Working with People on the Autism Spectrum”.

A one day conference designed to enhance the understanding and skills of people who love, live and work with adults, young people and children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), including Asperger’s Syndrome. It is suitable for family members, partners, parents, counsellors, psychologists, teachers, pastors, chaplains, youth workers and others who care about and work with people ‘on the spectrum’. This conference draws together experts and practitioners from a range of autism-related specialities to provide a comprehensive response to this important issue which affects an estimated one in every 120 Australians and their loved ones.
Keynote address: Understanding ASDs: Origins, Implications, Challenges and Gifts (Dr Carolyn Russell)
Workshops: Delegates may choose workshops from the following four streams based on their specific interests:
Stream A – School, education and employment
Stream B – Marriage, family, siblings and relationships
Stream C – Counselling children and adults with ASD (& their families)
Stream D – Spirituality, pastoral care and inclusive faith communities
