Come’n Try Day – Special Olympics
February 16, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pmTBA
Special Olympics is not for profit region-based competitive sporting competition for people living with an intellectual disability. Our athletes train in local clubs, wear team uniforms and compete on weekends; the same as any other sporting club. Everyone is welcome and everyone can compete. Whilst we may make some concessions to make our sports accessible our athletes play by the same rules and win or lose the same way as other athletes in mainstream clubs. This is one of the many unique elements of Special Olympics. It’s great fun and the camaraderie is something to behold.
The Logan club is about to launch with a Come’n’Try day on the 16th of February. During this event people will be able to try out the sports we are offering, see a showcase by existing Special Olympics athletes and sign up for the sports we are offering. There will also be some local celebrities including members of the Logan Thunder women’s basketball team.
