During that time he has served as Australia’s Human Rights Commissioner for three and a half years and as Race Discrimination Commissioner for two years.
Graeme has also been an active high profile advocate for the implementation of cinema captioning and audio descriptions and has been a Hearing Commissioner with the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission.
As Chairman of The Attitude Foundation he has great vision to create an environment through the media, which empowers people with disabilities to live their lives uninhibited by negative or limiting assumptions & discrimination.
Attitude Foundation Limited was established in 2014 by people who are passionate about the inclusion of people with disabilities in society and are enthusiastic storytellers. Their aim is to produce a regular television program to bring awareness to the community about people with disability, so I took the opportunity to meet with Graeme whilst in Sydney last Thursday, to discuss our organisations’ mutual vision.
The Attitude Foundation Australia is following the same format as Attitude.Live New Zealand to bring awareness to the Community about people with disability. SpecialCare Central’s televison program ‘Care Central.tv’ is providing information links for People with Disability, as well as Seniors and Carers to Service providers. Our programs both highlight good news, and bring awareness of, and to, our community with special needs.
We have agreed to link our resources for the benefit of all. We look forward to sharing with The Attitude Foundation our online Directory, events, feedback from our Expo’s and our Blog articles, and we will link our reader community with the Attitude Australia television program.
